My measure for a good tank is always how little I have to "think" about it. I know it's good if I've reached for it in the morning without second-guessing my choice. If I mindlessly throw it on without realizing it's the third, fourth, fifth (?) day in a row that I've worn it. The less I have think about it, the more I love it.
Every summer capsule wardrobe can benefit from having a reliable and trustworthy tank in it. It will seriously make the job of getting dressed easy.
The Linen Textured Tank Tee is our most affordable tank to date, just under $60. This edition is crafted out of a durable and lightweight linen-cotton jersey. There's a delightfully slubby texture from the linen that's balanced out by a softness from the cotton. It's got simple lines, a high neck, a relaxed fit with a nice fluid drape, and it's just the right length where you can tuck or leave untuck depending on your style.
Honestly, when I road-tested our prototype of the Linen Textured Tank Tee last summer I wore it almost every day. I threw it on with pretty much anything and my outfits were complete before I even had time to think about it.
I put together a styling cheat sheet to show you the versatility of this simple tank, how each of the different colors of the tank can instantly refresh an existing pair of bottoms in your wardrobe.
If you own our Signature Relaxed Tapering Trouser (or just any black pair of pants), each color brings a out a different side of the pants. I really love the minimal and chic look of pairing the Off-White Tank with these black tapering trousers. Meanwhile, the Olive has more of a casual earthy feel, whilst the Cadmium Yellow brings out playfulness of the trousers!
Now, onto white bottoms. As you may have seen in our Spring Starter Kit entry, I think every spring capsule wardrobe should have a pair of white bottoms. They're a super versatile foundation because every color sits so well with white. I think the pairing of the Cadmium Yellow Linen Textured Tank Tee with the Off-White Pleated Skate Trouser is by far my favorite spring/summer look. It's bright, fun and just makes the process of getting dressed a joy. I wore this look A LOT last summer.
Hope this cheat sheet sparks some summer outfit ideas that you can wear once we're all out of quarantine. But in the meantime, I guess the Linen Textured Tank Tee also makes for a great piece to lounge around in... 😉
